About Settling-In Programme (SIP)

The Ministry of Manpower requires all first-time Migrant Domestic Workers (MDWs) to attend the Settling-In Programme (SIP), conducted in English or in the MDW's native languages. The SIP aims to better orientate and equip MDWs with basic knowledge about living and working safely in Singapore.

SIP will be delivered through a combination of lecturers, videos and practical sessions and will cover the following four modules:

  1. Adapting to working and living in Singapore
  2. Conditions of employment
  3. Working safely
  4. Relationship and stress management

Course fee: $76.40 (Inclusive of GST) from 1st Jan 2024.


Important notice:

With effect from 1 Jan 2023, please note that all first-time MDWs will not be allowed to attend the Settling-In Programme (SIP) on the same day of her arrival in Singapore. This is to allow sufficient time for the MDW to rest and optimise her learning experience and outcomes for SIP*.

*For Sinhalese, Mizo, Thai, Malayalam, Telugu, and Mandarin interpreting services, please call us 3 working days before registration as we need to get the interpreter.

Note: EA’s & Employers, please bring the following required documents to NTUC LearningHub on the date of the course:

  • MDW’s IPA Letter (Complete set of employee’s copy)
  • MDW’s Passport (Original and photocopy)
  • A copy of MDW's digital arrival card issued by ICA
  • MDW’s Educational Certificate (Documentary proof of a minimum 8 years of formal education. If the MDW does not meet the minimum requirements, she will not be allowed to attend SIP)

** Please note that NTUC LearningHub reserves the right to reject any MDW who does not present the above documents mentioned.
** Upon arrival, please proceed straight to the classroom.

A Welcome SIM starter pack (courtesy of Singtel) will be issued for the registered MDW on the day of SIP. *While Stocks last*
