About Settling-In Programme (SIP)

The Ministry of Manpower requires all first-time foreign domestic workers (FDWs) to attend the Settling-In Programme (SIP), conducted in English or in the FDW's native languages. The SIP aims to better orientate and equip FDWs with basic knowledge about living and working safely in Singapore.

SIP will be delivered through a combination of lecturers, videos and practical sessions and will cover the following five modules:

(i) Introduction to Singapore
(ii) Conditions of employment
(iii) Safety at home
(iv) Safety in other areas
(v) Relationship and stress management

*For Sinhalese, Mizo, Telugu, Khmer and Mandarin interpreting services, please email us 3 working days before registration as we need to get the interpreter.

Note: EA’s & Employers, please bring the following required documents to NTUC LearningHub on the date of the course:

  • FDW’s IPA Letter (Employee’s Copy, inclusive of all 5 pages)
  • FDW’s Passport (Original and photocopy)
  • Embarkation Card
  • FDW’s Educational Certificate (Documentary proof of a minimum 8 years of formal education. If the FDW does meet the minimum requirements, she will not be allowed to attend SIP)

** Please note that NTUC LearningHub reserves the right to reject any FDW who does not present the above documents mentioned.
** Upon arrival, please proceed straight to the classroom.

A free mobile sim card (courtesy of Singtel) will be issued for the registered FDW on the day of SIP. *While Stocks last*
